Its iodine value is around 140, making it a drying oil.

Ingredients and Functions
1. The linoleic acid content in safflower seed oil is ≥67.8% (the minimum national standard). Safflower seed oil has the highest linoleic acid content among known plants, earning it the nickname “King of Linoleic Acid.”
2. The human body requires eight building blocks for life: protein, water, minerals, vitamins, sugars, fats, cellulose, and unsaturated fatty acids. Some unsaturated fatty acids cannot be synthesized by humans and must be absorbed from food. These are called essential unsaturated fatty acids. Three of these essential unsaturated fatty acids are particularly important: linoleic acid, linolenic acid, and arachidonic acid.
3. As long as the body is not deficient in linoleic acid, it can synthesize the other two essential unsaturated fatty acids. Therefore, linoleic acid is the most important unsaturated fatty acid in the human body and a fundamental building block of life.
4. The human body cannot synthesize linoleic acid on its own and must obtain it from the diet.

Safflower oil production process flow

The production process of refined safflower oil is as follows: safflower seed oil is pumped into a saponification pot, and then caustic soda solution is pumped into it, and steam is passed through the reaction for 16 hours to obtain mixed sodium fatty acids. The mixed sodium fatty acids are then pumped into an acidification pot together with 300kg of sulfuric acid solution and refluxed for 2 hours. The acidified material is pumped into a washing water pot, washed with hot water until neutral, and then the oil layer is pumped into a dehydration pot, decompressed, and dehydrated. Add 0.3% medicinal charcoal to the dehydrated material, keep it warm for 30 minutes, filter it, and put it into a finished product barrel.

Safflower oil production process flow chart

1. Oral Safflower Oil: Refined safflower oil can be taken directly orally. Clinical studies both domestically and internationally have shown that consuming 60ml of safflower oil daily can reduce cholesterol by over 10% after one week, and maintain stable blood lipids after a three-month course of treatment.
2. Prepared Safflower Oil: Beat one egg and add 20ml of safflower oil and a tablespoon of honey. Take with boiled water once daily. This detoxifies, lowers lipids, and improves skin tone. Combine 20ml of safflower oil with 30g of chickpea flour, mix well, and mix with boiled water once daily. This is a great nutritional supplement for those with hyperlipidemia and diabetes.
3. Cold Safflower Oil: Safflower oil is light in color, odorless, and clear, making it suitable for use in salad dressings.
4. Hot Safflower Oil: Suitable for frying, deep-frying, and stir-frying. Be careful not to exceed 255°C and keep the heating time short. It’s best to heat the food and oil together to avoid overheating the oil. Special reminder: When consumed by healthy people, the amount of safflower seed oil should be reduced according to personal circumstances.

China has become one of the world’s major safflower producing areas, with safflower grown in Xinjiang, Yunnan, Henan, Sichuan and other places. The total output accounts for more than 80% of the world’s total, and the research on safflower cultivation technology is also in a world-leading position.
